Jelly Belly introduced a new product line this year: Jelly Belly Lollibeans.
They’re premium lollipops in Jelly Belly flavors. I tried a good assortment of their current line, courtesy of many visits to their booth at the Fancy Food Show and rummaging around in the samples bin.
Sizzling Cinnamon - a pretty sassy flavor. Not too hot, but a little too “flavory” for me without the burn that I was hoping for. I mean, they put “sizzling” in the name.
Cotton Candy - sweet and plain and delicious.
Tangerine - softly orange with a subtle zesty hit. No tart ring to make it juicy.
Bubble Gum - this one is the most alarming looking, it’s a bright, opaque pink. A slight tutti frutti element to it, but not really that unlike Cotton Candy.
Lemon - I’d call this light lemon. It’s sweet and fruity but has no tangy element to it.
Root Beer - I was really looking forward to this one. It smelled sweet and earthy. It’s smooth, like a really dense Root Beer Barrel (but no sharp voids to cut your mouth). I was not disappointed, this is a real winner.
The quality of the candy is great. It’s very dense, ultra smooth and lasted a long time. However, the size and shape of the pop is a challenge. The bean is perpendicular to the stick, so it’s pretty wide (1.75”) for placing comfortably in the mouth. Sucking on them, because of the shape, also tends to be a little noisy, it took me a few pops before I got my consumption tactics honed to the point of silence. Another small pet peeve of mine with premium pops like this is that the stick is paper and you can suck air through when you dissolve far enough down on the stem, for reasons I don’t quite understand, this results in more slobber.
If you’ve ever had Linda’s Lollies, these are very similar. I think I still prefer the fruit flavors in Linda’s because they’re a little more rounded and of course there’s a much larger variety ... but she also has a 20 or so year head start.
The other flavors I didn’t try were Watermelon, Grape, Strawberry Cheesecake & Very Cherry.
These should be hitting stores soon, though there’s still nothing about them on the Jelly Belly website. You can order them on the web, but you have to get full cases of single flavors. Retail they’re supposed to go for 79 cents to 99 cents.

What no Popcorn flavor??? I am VERY upset as this is the BEST Jelly Belly flavor ever!
The first thing that came to mind when I saw these was: “How is that going to be comfortable to suck on?” It’s such an odd shape….
These are exciting… I am looking forward to finding them.. I too was surprised at the flavors because buttered popcorn is my favorite. I also would think that there would be a licorice flavor as well.
id love to be able to get ahold of some of these. I agree butterpopcorn, licorice and pear would be nice.
My thought, totally “Awesome”!
I also would love to get a hold of some of these flavors. ( flavor combos )
What about Green Apple,Buttered Popcorn,Caramel Popcorn!

Cotton candy is one of my favorite Jelly Belly flavors. Can’t wait to try that one.
Do these dissolve evenly or do they get jagged like Tootsie Roll pops and scrape the roof of the mouth?
AllyMoll - yes, I am curious why they didn’t lead with a buttered popcorn pop too!
Sera - my impulse would be to put them on the stick the other direction ... but maybe some prudish parents complained.
Kelly & A - I would really dig a licorice one! But it would look really weird to have an all black pop like that. Maybe it’d be popular with the goth set.
Jenna - as Jelly Belly flavors go, I’d also like to see Grapfruit, Banana & Toasted Marshmallow. I’m guessing they’re waiting to see that these are successful before throwing all the flavors out there.
Julilla - they’re completely dense and smooth, no voids or sharp holes at all.
Juicy Pear is Jelly Belly’s best flavor! I’ll wait til they come out with that flavor pop.
Did you try the jelly belly candy canes? If these are anything like those, i bet theyre amazing : )
I hate popcorn flavored candy. Ever since I tried the popcorn Dum Dums…. I don’t much like the popcorn jelly bellies either. It always seems like I’m eating liquid butter. Blech.
my favourite flavour is bubble gum, cotton candy, toasted marshamllow and cream soda..
come on y aint der a cream soda 1 ilove cream soda…and i wish der was a sizzling cinamon 1..i would buy all of the ones that ised if they were out now!!!!

:D
YAY….

I’ve had root beer lollibean and it is awesome!
I’ve only been able to find these in airport shops, sadly. But any time I fly, I get one! The Root Beer is certainly the best. But watermelon and strawberry cheesecake are also wonderful. I agree that the shape is difficult, but I think that the jelly bean shape is also so fun… I almost don’t mind the dumb noises I make sucking on it!
