One of the other “impossible to believe it might actually be good for only a dollar eighty-nine at Aldi’s” items I picked up in Ohio is a bar from Choceur called Coffee & Cream.
The bar is also 7.05 ounces and is described on the front as Fine coffee flavored milk chocolate combined with a layer of white chocolate.
The box is quite nice, though a little generic (and the cup of coffee there is completely out of scale with the bar shown). The bar is wrapped in an oversized paper-backed foil that is easy to re-wrap around the bar and put back into the box for later. (And yes, at seven ounces I wasn’t eating this all in one sitting, even with help from co-workers.)
Instead of little fingers like the Choceur Luxury Mini Chocolate Bars, this is a full sized bar.
The bottom layer is coffee flavored milk chocolate with little rectangles of white chocolate on top.
The effect is attractive, the bar was nicely molded with nice attention to detail. Each piece was a nice mouthful.
The flavor is immediately a sweet coffee. In fact, it’s almost all coffee. I caught a few notes of chocolate in there, but it’s all about the milk and coffee flavors here. It’s a tangy and woodsy coffee with a strong dairy component, especially from the white chocolate part.
It wasn’t as sweet as I’d feared, so I was pleased that I could eat as much as I could.
It’s a treat for coffee and white chocolate fans and for those who really like the powdered milk flavors of European chocolate. The fact that it’s milk chocolate and white certainly sets it apart from most other bars and it doesn’t have actual pieces of coffee beans in there.

I know this is terribly nitpicky, but the name of the store is Aldi. There’s no “apostrophe s.”
Grammar policing over. Aldi is quite a great place to shop for poor people such as myself.
To take the nit-picking one step further…..If I were to get something from YOUR house - wouldn’t I say I got it from Brad’s??? Your name is Brad - but the word “house” is implied and therefore the apostrophe S would be used in a possessive manner.
That being said…..this Coffee and Cream Bar looks heavenly - with my second and third favorite flavors combined! (First is GOOD milk chocolate!) I wonder if it is available anywhere on the east coast??? (We don’t have any Aldi Stores around here.)
PS - Happy Thanksgiving!!!
I traded some jewelry for chocolate with a girl living in germany a few months ago and this was one of the bars she sent me (although in different packaging obviously). It was pretty yummy.
If you really want to get nitpicky, it’s actually ALDI, not Aldi.
I’m sure someone already mentioned this, but Aldi originated in Germany and is still quite a popular store there. The Choceur brand looks generic, but is in fact quality German chocolate.
I bought a bar this weekend and am enjoying it as I type. Very good texture and the coffee/sugar ratio is just the right amount.
I’m passionate about white chocolate, so I’ll have to check this out!
I was happy to see you review this bar. I had mentioned it in my comment on your last Aldi candy review. It is a rare find of good, inexpensive chocolate. Glad you liked it.
That’s encouraging because I love the look and smell of white chocolate but don’t like the sweetness. It’s a brilliant thing putting the coffee in there because coffee completes the chocolate experience.
I love the mini choclate bars at ALDI too. But my favorite is the Chocolate Balls they have only at Christmas. They are made by Choceur, and I think the bags say Belgium. There are mint, almond and raspberry. I’ve tried, unsuccessfully, to find out more on the internet. Would like to know if they are available someplace other times during the year.
I love all of these Choceur confections. o me Aldi Stores are great. They’re even cheaper than big box Wal Mart. The quality is there, and a price working class can afford.
I even like the white chocolate bar. At Easter it was hard to eat that cute Choceur bunny in that pretty gold wrapper, with its golden medal/bow necklace.
Can I buy the dark chocolate Mint, Raspberry, and Almond balls over the internet? I cannot find them in the Aldi’s stores in this area.
I too have just enjoyed the taste of Choceur milk chocolate w/hazelnut… mmm, and i must say for the price was a good buy. The Aldi store here sometimes carries this brand but this was the first time I’ve tried the 1.4 oz bar.
hi im crrently in ny an im trying to fin this chocolate since i ont have an alis anywhere near me. if someone knows where i can get it that woul be good thanks a million
