  1. I don’t quite understand why the Carrot Cake M&Ms; are in such limited distribution—only 3 Wal*Marts in a 200 mile radius carry them here.  But they are REALLY GOOD (if you like carrot cake, that is…)  The flavor is startlingly accurate.

  2. Many thanks for the review – lots of wonderful stuff available this year!  Is this the last Easter that Hershey distributes Cadbury product?  The contract between Hershey and Cadbury began in July 1988 and was for 25 years, so doing the math it should be up this year.  I’m sure Mondelez/Kraft will want the Cadbury name back as they are well capable of handling their own distribution – Hershey haven’t exactly been enthusiastic custodians of the Cadbury name in the USA - just look over the border in Canada and see the difference in choice!

  3. I saw some Lemonhead creamy juju flowers and Lemonhead jelly candies at the Dollar Tree. Didn’t buy them because they looked eh.

  6. Saw some Ferrerro Rocher chocolate eggs at the single Walmart in our town (don’t know about the ones in the city 30 minutes away). They are just like the FR balls, except the outside is smooth chocolate, no hazelnut pieces mixed in. Package indicated all the eggs’ other layers are identical to the balls. The most exciting Easter candy for grownups I’ve seen yet.

  7. Last year Ghiradelli had a toasted coconut version of their foil eggs. I haven’t seen them this year, has anyone else? They were pretty tasty.

  9. Great blog! I know you didn’t give Trader Joe’s Milk Chocolate Malted Milk Eggs top marks when you reviewed them, but we absolutely love them! We have not found any other malt ball to come close to how good they are. We even paid an exorbitant price for some gourmet malt balls, and although we tried some interesting flavors, they were certainly not worth the money! I would’ve rather had Whoppers, so that tells you how awful they were! Unfortunately, there is no sign of the Trader Joe’s malt balls this year, yet. Even though they have their other Easter candy out. Do you know anything about this? Do you know the candy manufacturer? We’d love to be able to get these year-round! Thanks!

  10. I love the malt balls at Sprout’s Farmers Market. They are bulk, which is nice. So good when they are fresh!
