I got an email from a reader who’s looking for help in identifying a candy from a few years back:

There was this gummy type candy in the 80s (maybe very early 90s) that came molded in a package with a plastic molded front and a peel off (I think foil) back. There was one candy per package, and they varied in color, some a mixture of purple/red/blue and some a mixture of green/yellow/orange. For some reason I think they were in the shape of ninja turtle characters, but I could be wrong. If you happen to know what this is, I would really appreciate your answer!

Anyone have any thoughts? I have a vague recollection of seeing something like this, but I don’t think I ever bought them.

I don’t recall a specific name, but I remember these as well. They had a more delicate texture than standard gummies. I just loved them! I remember TMNT ones specifically, but I’m certain I had them in some other shape, as well.
