We have all likely heard about the salmonella issues with some peanut butter and paste made by the Peanut Corporation of America. If not, please see FDA’s site on this issue for all the recalls.

We have a list that is being constantly updates with candy manufacturers’ official statements of the safety of their products. Please refer to this list if you have any questions and please note that a company not listed on our site simply did not return any information to us. This may be for many reasons, including ongoing investigation or even lack of peanut butter as an ingredient. If you do not find a manufacturer’s name listed anywhere, please contact that company directly for information.

As always, be vigilant with your choices in what you consume. Read labels and use your best judgment.

To add to CarlWeaver’s blog, candies with peanut butter are being reacall if they are associated with PCA. (Peanut Corperation of America) But again like he said, check with the FDA’s website. They seem to add about every hour. (No joke either)

Looks like there were some updates over the weekend that haven’t been included on the NCA’s master list:

GooGoo Clusters & GooGoo Peanut Butter made by Standard Candy are being recalled. More info on their statement at the FDA:

Zachary Confections has issued a recall of their Chocolate Dipped Peanuts and associated mixes that contain them. They also manufactured under Target’s Market Pantry label:

We are not listing all the recalls, just the stuff we have heard is good. The expanded recall on peanuts from PCA initially brought the recall list from 77 companies to something like 400, across all sorts of food products. We are still receiving updates from companies and are keeping our list as current as we can.

Folks following along should definitely check out their products again before consuming. The recall has expanded to a Texas facility also operated by Peanut Corp of America. Though there was no reported salmonella contaminated products shipped there is a precautionary recall

To be safe, I’d look for companies that say that they process their own peanuts.

The Hershey Company does not buy and has never bought peanuts from this company and manufactures it’s own peanut butter.

Theo has also added itself to the list of those with possibly-contaminated peanuts.
