Hi candy lovers!

I’m desperately searching for Hershey’s Eggies, Halloween edition, in Toronto. Imported by Hershey’s Canada. Last year I got them at Shopper’s Drug Mart but no luck this year. I contacted Hershey’s and they said they are still being distributed but they cannot tell me of a specific store.

Did you know Eggies comes out several times a year, not just Easter? Summer, Christmas & Halloween. I last got Summer Eggies in Saskatchewan at a Great Canadian Superstore.

thanks a bunch!

I’m not familiar with these Eggies! Are they like Cadbury Mini Eggs (a morsel of chocolate, covered in a matte, crunchy sugar shell)? Or are they more like the Hershey’s Eggs (a thick hard candy shell on a milk chocolate morsel)?

Eggies are similar to Cadbury Mini Eggs, but slightly larger. Controversy abounds when comparing Canadian, USA and British versions! They’re all different!  confused In Canada the Cdbry Mini Eggs are more commonly found, but I don’t know why!!

I give you this quote from another blog, http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268900

Why?

Because the Hershey has better tasting chocolate (to me) and the the candy shell is more “compliant” as compared to the Cadbury variety. The Cadbury chocolate tastes fine but the shell is too hard for me.

It may sound like a trivial thing ... but when I spend my hard earned money on these things I take the Hershey Eggies every time.

I totally agree. I find the hershey cholcolate to be sweeter and more rich.

Here’s an update on Eggies from Hershey in Canada. They come out at least 4 times a year and I have photos of 3 of the 4 packages, Easter, summer and Halloween. Since it’s October here’s the Halloween wrapper. Notice the Hershey rabbit has transmogrified into a vampire-rabbit.   surprised
