Snickers Rockin’ Nut Road BarI know nothing about this bar except what is in front of me: Limited Edition Snickers Rockin’ Nut Road Bar. I got it directly from the Mars company, but no press materials. So all I have to go by is what’s on the wrapper and of course what’s inside that chocolate enrobing. The package says: Almonds, Caramel and Marshmallow-Flavored Nougat wrapped in Dark Chocolate. I was kind of dubious. I wasn’t fond of the Hershey’s S’Mores bar ... but that’s S’Mores, this is Rocky Road, which has the addition of nuts and the subtraction of graham crackers. Like all the limited edition Snickers bars, this is smaller than the regular, clocking in at 1.83 ounces instead of 2.07 for the original. I’m okay with the slight of .24 ounces, it’s a satisfying bar, it says so right on the back. It smells lightly of vanilla and dark toasted nuts with a touch of chocolate. The chocolate shell is decent, and sets off the sweet innards well. The caramel has a good mix of almond pieces in it, they’re all fresh and crunchy and much more noticeable than those in the Snickers Almond. The nougat though is where this bar really differs from all others I’ve tried. It’s not the grainy fluffed nougat that ends up in Milky Way and 3 Musketeers. Instead this is like a dense marshmallow. Smooth and not too sweet, a little stringy like the caramel. It’s a completely different texture experience with this smoother “marshmallow flavored nougat”, kind of like real European-style nougats. (The ingredients list says egg whites, there is no gelatin in here like marshmallows have, so this is still vegetarian-safe ... and probably a nice option for vegetarians who miss marshmallows.) Perhaps it’s because I have a bounty of these bars and have eaten at least five for this review (instead of the usual 1 or 2 for most reviews), it’s grown on me quite a bit. Dark chocolate was a good choice, it keeps it all from feeling heavy and sticky. Brian also liked them, but also stopped short of love (and I agree, regular Snickers is still the best.) Still, I can’t tell you where you can find them or when they’ll be available. (Except, of course, from me if you read on.) Here’s a special peek into the life of a candy blogger. On February 27th I got an email from someone at Mars, thanking me for my positive review on the Twix Java and offering, “I will be happy to send you samples of new products as they become available.” (Emphasis mine.) She also mentioned that Mars has launched a new direct buy store, where you can pick up boxes of their candies, including the hard to find Munch and Snickers Dark. Instead of being more expensive than regular stores (like the M&Ms online store - $5.99 for 7 ounces of green M&Ms?) it’s about $.68 cents a bar. Well, I’ve been looking for an “in” with Mars for quite a while, as I’d love to know about the new releases and get them in advance of release (it’s pretty frustrating to have people ask about something they found in the store, and I can’t find it in any stores near me and no where to order it on the web). I do get some notice from PR folks, but it’s not always consistent. I replied with my address and reminded her that there is no need for thanks for any reviews, “I just call them like I taste them.” (And it’s not like I’ve raved about everything Mars has ever made, but in general I like their products and usually turn down offers for items I don’t think I’d like.) Then on March 5th I came home from work and found this in my kitchen. Perhaps I don’t understand the term “samples” but even in the world of generous interpretations a single box of 24 bars would be an ample sample. A full case of the bars? (Yes, that’s 12 boxes of Snickers Rockin’ Nut Road Bars with 24 bars each = 288 bars.) Plus a case of Twix Java! (360 bars.) And another more responsible box of 24 packages of Starbust GummiBurst (goo filled gummis) and another box of 24 Snickers Charged. I wrote back to Mars, thanking them for their generosity, but gently nudging that I really don’t know what to do with all that candy (seriously, almost 700 portions!). She responded, “Share with your friends ” So here I am, with oodles of candy. I’ve given away quite a bit, boxes to the office, a couple for raffle prizes for the American Cetacean Society, three to a neighbor to take to work. It’s drawing time. I’m offering a box of candy bars (your choice: Twix Java with 36 bars or this new Snickers Rockin’ Nut Road Bar with 24 bars - you can tell me which you want if you win). There will be two lucky winners of this drawing. The rules are as follows: And there you have it, dear readers. With great candy comes great responsibility. UPDATE 3/30/2008: Since this post has now been linked a couple of places (I kind of thought it was a treat for regular readers), I’m going to award three prize boxes instead of two if the entries reach 500. Just to keep the odds similar. (So if the deadline is coming and we haven’t hit it yet, tell your friends!) Thanks to everyone new who’s stopped by, I hope you keep reading! UPDATE 4/9/2008: Thanks to everyone who entered. I drew three winners: Elise, Stijn & Donna ... two picked the Snickers Rockin’ Nut Road Bars and one chose the Twix Java. They’re all in the mail on their way to their recipients! To everyone else who is interested in trying the bars, they’ll be available starting in July 2008 according to Mars. Comments are open again. Meticulously photographed and documented reviews of candy from around the world. And the occasional other sweet adventures. Open your mouth, expand your mind.

I love See’s Scotchmellow, perhaps that with a graham cracker crust to make it like a Smore’s with caramel!
I would like a Snickers with Extra Nuts and pecans yums. The rocky road snicker sounds good.
This would ‘blow my diet’ but I would love doing it!
My ideal candy bar would be a Big Hunk covered in chocolate.
Bounty
Twix
i would love a candy bar that tasted like a milk chocolate toasted coconut haystack
Nutella chocolate bar
I can’t say there is A candy bar out there that I must have. My favorite candy bar would be twix. I love the carmel and cookie crunch coated with chocolate. The thing that I think would make it out of this world would to be cover it with dark chocolate instead of milk. I don’t think they have done that yet - at least I haven’t seen anything like it in my area!
My ideal candy bar would be a light chocolate creme/ganache infused with rum and raisins, spiked with crispy bits of maybe rice puffs or rosted almonds and covered with dark chocolate.
I use my pregnancy as excuse for the strange combination .
I would like to see a candy bar dipped in rainbow sprinkles. Even something as simple as a 3 Musketeers dipped in rainbow sprinkles. I can’t think of anything better!
Okay this is pretty complicated:
My ideal candy bar would be the soft chocolate center of the Ferrero Rocher candy with the nut in the middle. The chocolate center would be covered in rice krispy treats with big chunks of marshmallow in it (instead of having it all mixed in like the actual stuff). A layer of nougat would surround that. And the last thing would be a layer of Godiva milk chocolate coating the entire thing. mmm it would be a big ball of deliciousness. god, i want to make one now. hahaha.
hazelnuts, nougat, bittersweet ganache and a hint of salted caramel.
It’s my birthday today and Snickers has always been my candy bar of choice. Therefore, what better time than get a present of a new taste sensation in my favorite bar. Thanks!
thick caramel, pecans and a high grade extra creamy milk chocolate…or a vanilla infused sponge toffee with chopped hazelnuts covered with white chocolate…mmmmm.
I think my ideal candy bar would consist of a soft component like gianduja, caramel with sea salt, or fluffy nougat with a hint of orange blossom water; and a crispy or crunchy component like a feuillantine or rice krispies layer, or something like cocoa nibs or chopped espresso beans. And it’s a dark chocolate bar for me!
Haha, I can’t really make up my mind and want a bit of everything. Anyway, thanks for sharing the candy bars. That is A LOT of candy! :O
Abba Zabba bar, for some reason i can’t find anything i like better!
I think I would like a coconut flavored marshallow bar with nuts covered in dark chocolate and crushed chick-o-stix.
Hands down: Cadbury’s Double Decker bar.
Almost perfect. I would tweak it with dark chocolate (which may exist…Double Decker Dark?)
Everytime I hit London, its the first thing I do.
My ideal candy bar would an ice cream bar with elements reflecting the Snickers with Almonds (formerly the Mars Bar in the US) but with dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. I love the Snickers ice cream bar, but it is too peanut-y.
I really love Pay Day bars. I think they’re my favorite all-time bar!
The old fashion caramel MARATHON bar but with dark chocolate instead of milk.
i’d like a reese’s with a candy coating of some sort because they tend to be a bit messy - but otherwise peanut butter cups are the greatest candy bars ever made
It would start with Dark chocolate outer coating with delicious whipped/mousse caramel and coffee inside. Maybe bits of raisins to give it texture.
My ideal candy bar? Something with lots of crunchy nuts - preferrably almonds - caramel, toffee, nougat, and chocolate. Maybe some peanut butter thrown in - you know, to make it kind of healthy. Oh, and some soft, chocolate filling.
The ideal candy bar for me would have Cadbury chocolate(it is so creamy and smooth),dried cranberries, and pecans.YUMMY!
I’d love to see something like the old Marathon bar. Chewy caramel is good!
Crunchy sensation with chocolate is a fav too..like Whatchamacalit or Butterfinger.
Suzy
Baby Ruth in dark chocolate. Yum.
MMMM CHOCOLATE- My ideal candy bar would be anything with a chocolate cookie, marshmallow, caramel and milk chocolate. Love Frozen-Snickers,KitKat, Reese’s PB Cups.
I love the Take 5 candy bars, except for maybe a little bit more caramel.
Paydays have always been my favorite but if they would just cover it in milk chocolate it would be devine.
I’d love to see a dark choc version of a cadbury egg. My favorite bar candies have always been suff with Marzipan or almond joy and snickers. I’d like to see a chocolate bar with lots of fruit chunks in it too.
B
My New favorite would be…Hard Peanut Butter on the outside with caramel and chocolate center.
My ideal candy bar is Germany’s Ritter Sport Chocolate with Butter Biscuit. It’s a delicious silky milk chocolate, better than any I’ve had in the U.S. and it enrobes a crispy shortbread type cookie, that tastes full of butter. The brand is called Sport, I’m guessing because their perfectly square shape makes them ideal post-sporting snacks? Anyway, they are delicious. If you haven’t tried this brand yet, it’s highly recommended. They also have a bunch of interesting flavors such as cappuccino, etc. Sort of hard to find, but we can find them out here okay in Nebraska.
anything with chocolate in it rocks
Wow, my favorite is definitely the trusty ole’ Snickers bar and now I’m seriously craving one! I see a stock up on candy bars in my very near future.
My ideal candy bar would be a Zagnut bar enrobed in milk chocolate. (This would be a lot like a Clark bar, I guess, but it would still have the coconut layer that coats the Zagnut bar under the chocolate.) Yum!
I love caramel and chocolate, so Caramello by Cadbury is my favorite!
Sorry, I’m a purist (or really boring) I just like my plain old Kit Kat.
But I have to say, when they made the Big Kat, it just didn’t taste the same. Same goes with the Nestle Crunch, the Bunch o’Crunch they sell at movie theaters tastes awful. The Crunch or Hershey’s Krackel is my 2nd favorite candy.
I would LOVE to see the ORIGINAL MARS BAR of the 50’s and 60’s brought back.
Todays mars bar just doesnt have the same taste…I imagine it is because of the switch from sugar to high fructose corn syrup….BRING BACK THE REAL STUFF..BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL MARS BAR..AND ON A SEPERATE RANT…BRING BACK ORIGINAL OVALTINE TOO!!!!!
So many comments already.
My ideal candy bar would have crystallized ginger and cranberry pieces in dark chocolate in the top layer and that would be over a layer of pecans. Sort of poured over the pecans so the chocolate melts down into them and holds it all together.
Oh yes.
Snickers is the best and always will be
My ideal chocolate bar would be something like a 5th Avenue, but with really good chocolate. I love the slightly salty, not-too-sweet filling in the 5th Avenue bar better than Butterfinger.
Or! Something like torrone covered in dark chocolate. Yum!
It haunts me - I remember a candy bar from when I was a boy but I don’t remember the name. It had dark chocolate, mint and milk chocolate with a peanut butter layer. It was heavenly and I wish I could find it.
Darn, now I’m hungry. What’s in the kitchen?
Reese’s pieces are my favorite candy of the moment. Sees and Esther PRice if we’re getting hoity toity.
I love those caramel covered marshmallows rolled in rice krispies. Made with really gooey caramel. Usually I have to make them myself.
My ideal candy bar would be segmented chocolate squares. Each square would have a different “addition”. One would have mint, another chopped peanuts, caramel, cookie crunch, coconut, marshmellow and so on. You get the idea. That way I could have a little of everything I like in ONE BAR! WooHoo!!
This could result in epic fail, but I’d love to see something with a crushed graham cracker or gingersnap base, with a layer of pumpkin pie filling type substance, and topped with fluffy marshmallow. Not sure if robing it in chocolate would put it over the top, but I’m not sure how else to prevent it dissolving into an abrasive sticky goo pile as soon as you unwrap it.
Snickers are the best!
I love rollos! MMMM
My ideal candy bar is Mars dark.
Give me a candy bar with a cookie base. A third chocolate marshmallow, a third vanilla marshmallow and the last third strawberry. Then cover with white chocolate. Like a Neapolitan candy bar.
Ideal - thousand grand
For me, I finish a candy bar unsatisfied unless I have the perfect balance of salt and sweet and creamy balanced along with crunchy and chewy…so what candy bar meets all of these requirements you ask…my absolute favorite, Baby Ruth!!!!
I loved the Marathon Bar! Bring it back in 3 types, Dark, Milk, and White!
My ideal candy bar would be a Caramilk bar—but after adding a smooth, gooey, creamy peanut butter taste inside.
And to make it even more ideal, have a great rich flavor—but with no calories.
My ideal candy bar is actually not in bar form, it’s an M&M;. It is almond at the center, surrounded by a layer of peanut butter, surrounded by a layer of dark chocolate, with a candy coated shell. YUM.
I would like almonds, peanuts, and cashew nuts surrounded by a toffee fluff and dipped in white chocolate and the top then dunked in dark chocolate.
Oh Henry. Totally awesome.
My favorite candy bar would be a See’s Bourdex filling with a toffee crunch inside.
My ideal candy bar… a good combination of coffee and chocolate flavors, a good contrast of textures going on… perhaps some roasted salted nuts. For one in existence already, that means Twix Java! Maybe combine it with a Snickers Almond. Mmmmm.
I want Snickers Charged !!!
THANKS
I am not sure if I would change something or not, I really like both the 3 musketeers and mars bars (its the nougat!) although I would love it if they made them vegan, but that is really stretching it!
I read your blog almost every day but rarely comment, only I must because it’s horribly embarrassing that *this* is sounding like my ideal candy bar. I know my nearest store doesn’t have it, as one would be home with me by now if it did.
Chocolate coating with chocolate buttercreme inside.
My all time favorite candy bar would have to be a light mix of hazlenuts with salted peanuts and almonds, set in a layer of caramel, all encased in a dark chocolate coating.
My ideal candy bar would be Hershey’s chocolate bar with almonds.
my ideal candy bar would be a king size twix bar with with a star bucks mocha frappuccino served to me a la carte with a hint of powdered sugar sprinkled on the top of the twix
My ultimate candy bar would have a dark chocolate outside, and a layer of hazelnuts and a layer of nutella on the inside.
My perfect candy bar would be the old school Milky Way before they started messing with the caramel. Now with the “MORE/BETTER/CHEWIER (etc)” caramel, they taste vaguely rubbery, which ruins the malted flavor of the nougat. Why mess with a good thing?
My favorite candy is a dark chocolate peanut butter cup. YUM!
My ideal candy bar is the one and only delishous snickers .Love it would love to be the one chosen for a smple case
My ideal candy bar would definitely have dark chocolate in it. And that’s it. Just acres and acres of dark chocolate.
Ok, something salty would be good too, like maybe bacon.
Mmm. bacon and chocolate. Now that would be interesting.
And if not bacon, almonds. Love me some almonds.
A number of folks have already mentioned my ideal candy bar: a cookies n’ cream Twix. Seriously, who do I talk to about getting this back?
Cadbury’s Wunderbar is a pretty great combination of crunchy peanut butter and caramel with milk chocolate (usually I prefer dark chocolate but there’s something about this mix!)
My ideal candybar would be with white chocolate, I know there are not many lovers out there. But Milka has a choclate bar (one of the big ones) with milk, dark, and white chocolate which is one of my favorites. So white chocolate enrobed with dark, and a salty caramel center, that would be a great bar for me, like a double dipped Rollo
I also like Take 5, but actually would prefer there be no peanuts, because as the old commercial goes, sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t…
Well I don’t, sometimes, so yeah :o)
Perhaps, Take 4 have you…
Well maybe add butter toffee in place of the peanuts and keep it Take 5, yeah that sounds gooood…
I love almost any kind of candy including chocolate, but Twix is the best as far as I’m concerned, I love the cookies inside. Thanks for the chance to win
I don’t know who made it, but my ideal candy bar was a Nestle Quik flavored chewy chocolate bar.It was awsome!!! It was discontinued years ago. Wahhh!!!! I’m hoping the Rocky Road bar comes out soon, it sound great.
Let’s see. My ideal candy bar does not exist that I know of, but it would combine aspects of existing yummy candy bars. Have you ever heard of Bit of Honey? Well, I think that it would be delicious if it was in a bar form and coated with dark chocolate..mmm…
Anything chocolate.
I also think a decadent Take 5 would be my ideal. Whole wheat pretzel, salted caramel, pecans or pistachios (sp?) and real dark chocolate…maybe some toffee in there, too.
oh my gosh these rockin road snickers sound like the absolute perfect candy bar. ive always pictured the perfect bar as something like a marshmallow pinwheel with almonds on top covered in dark chocolate. mmm that sounds sooo delicious.
Let’s see… one layer of cookie crumble, then peanut butter, then brownie, wafers, and the whole thing coated with chocolate… with m&m;‘s on top. :D
Many moons ago, I used to get a candy bar at school that was called “Big Time” It was chocolate, caramel and nuts, I believe. I would love to have one today to see if it’s anywhere near as good as I thought it was.
But I would love to try out the Snickers bar also.
When I know For Sure that I am about to die, I will eat Snickers until I want no more. I am diabetic and, fortunately, I can cheat a lot, but I must exercise to lower my blood sugar after I cheat, and I have excellent A1C tests/
A Snickers bar is always a treat, and many people are not as fortunate as I.
I repeat, however, that when I know For Sure that I am about to die…..give me Snickers until I want no more. :0)
Yes, Sky Bar was one of my favorite candies. Being able to have 4 different flavor in one was so great. But I have this strong addiction to Nutella. I would eat that with everything. Sky Bar’s chocolate combine with Nutella. =D
-melodykid
my ideal candy bar is one that already exists and it is the special dark hershey’s chocolate.
a dark chocolate ferrero rocher..yummm
peanut butter, nuts, pretzel, nougat, chocolate, crisps, and i really think malted milk would go really good in a candy bar.
i don’t know of any candy bars that have done it before. they should though.
or maybe they should make a peanut butter and marshmallow nougat bar, like a fluffernutter. but then it will be all sweet, and the bread won’t make it weird.
or a PB&J;bar. (i’m sure they’ve done that before though)
there’s a lot of good things they could make.
they should make reeses fast breaks with banana nougat and sell it as the elvis bar.
they had the elvis cup, and this sounds like it would taste way better.
yummmm.
My ideal candy bar would have macadamia nuts and raisins mixed with carmal, encased in dark dark chocolate.
I love Twix. It’s a cookie, it’s chocolate, and there’s just enough caramel to create a depth of flavor. Awesome.
My favorite chocolate bar of all time is the Nielson Crispy Crunch. I don’t have them very often, but when I do they sure hit the spot.
I am a big fan of candy in general, though I’m trying to cut down (I tend to go for quality over quantity these days.) My all-time favorites include dark chocolate with orange, and my current favorite is the Ghirardelli Intense Dark Citrus Sunset bar—the bits of chewy candied orange peel and crispy toffee perfectly accent the dark chocolate.
The Snickers Rockin? Nut Road Bar sounds great, and like something I would really enjoy—thanks for the offer!
Mmm, dark chocolate twix although that java twix sounds awesome. All candy is great though.
i love the peanut butter snickers! i remember it from when i was tiny, and then all of a sudden it was gone. now they recently came out with the peanut butter crunch snickers, or something like that and its got an orange wrapper like that old one, but its not the same at all! i miss the pb snickers!
Unfortunately I haven’t have time to read all the candy bar ideas posted so far.
A few years ago I came up with what I thought would be my ideal candy bar, but now I’m having trouble remembering all the details.
The crux of it is “marbits,” those crunchy (not pliable at all—they turn to powder when crushed) marshmallows as in Lucky Charms cereal or instant hot cocoa mixes. Combine a bunch of those (or even a continuous marbit slab) with carmel and enrobe with chocolate.
I’ve described this to several people and, alas, nobody but me thinks it sounds good.
mmmmmm Mounds, coconut and milk chocolate, what could be better
Frozen 3 Musketeers is the best!
Chocolate and peanut butter. Perfect just the way it is!
My favorite candy bar is Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. I think they could be improved upon by making the chocolate a little thicker.
Twix is my favourite but one that tastes like java, that would be out of this world.
I love anything chocolate and mint. One of the best was a small bar (actually was round, but why be fussy?) that I used to find in special displays. Dark chocolate and mint cream—can’t remember the name though, probably a very long senior moment!
My ultimate candy bar would contain varying amounts of these awesome ingredients:
- marshmallow
- caramel
- peanuts
- milk chocolate
- and some white chocolate drizzles, just for good measure!
I like the plain snickers as my ideal candy bar.
I’m still partial to a plain old Hershey bar!
ZERO
My ideal candy bar would have nougat, marshmallow and mint in a dark chocolate coating.
snickers in a dark chocolate
My ideal chocolate bar would be more like melt in your mouth fudge.
One of my favorite candy bars ever was the Hershey’s Bar None - a cocoa wafer, chocolate filling, peanuts and a milk chocolate coating. It was crispy and light, with a smooth chocolate coating. I sure wish Hershey would make them again.
Twix
THANK YOU GOD BLESS
There has never been a better candy than a Three Musketeers bar. Can’t help it, that is my ideal. They could make the bars 1 1/2 times larger than it currently is. One bite and I melt and transfer myself to anywhere in the world I want to be. The taste lingers too.
My ideal bar would have coffee, and caramel, and (very) dark chocolate.
cross a payday and turkish taffy
I am in love with the Twix PB bar. Just enough peanut butter and chocolate with a cookie in there too. Delicious!
My ideal candy bar would be a Ferrero Rocher in a Jumbo Kit Kat or Twix form. Bonus points if they could make a decadent mint version.
My favorite candy bar would be a kosher salted pretzel with a very light golden caramel (not burnt) layber and toffee candy pieces sprinkled all over, then covered in high quality milk chocolate.
I think my perfect candy bar would be a mix of sea salt carmel—really good quality decadent with real butter flavor with semisweet sharffenberger. Yum—the idea!
My “ideal” candy bar would be something with dark chocolate, peanut butter, caramel (but not too sweet), a little salty something wethere it was peanuts or pretzle and a little coffee flavor in the chocolate. Not too much coffee, but just enough to impart a little smokyness to the chocolate.
The best candy bar EVER was the Butternut bar, discontinued years ago when the manufacturer was sold to another candy company. Something like today’s Snickers, but with more chocolate and nuts, less caramel. INCREDIBLE summertime treat when thrown in the freezer for a few hours before eating. You just had to be sure that you had strong teeth!
the ideal candy bar for me is milk chocolate ,nuts, and caramel.
My ideal candy bar would be the BonBonBar Single Malt Scotch bar reviewed on Feb. 7. Booze, caramel, chocolate, and salt? Yes, please! I haven’t tried it yet though. I want to finish some other premium chocolate I have in my cabinets before I spend $5 on a candy bar.
Whatchamacallits.
I know, I know…I could choose any wonderful candy, the beautiful gourmet chocolate bars by Neuhaus or Vosges…but I always end up going back to my favorite candy bar from when I was a kid.
Mine is very simple. A Hershey Kiss. When I crave chocolate. A Kiss satisfies it.
My ideal candy bar is one LOADED w/ cocoa chocolate and coconut!- Oh yeh- and that’s weight controling and good for me (am I asking too much???).
It should have “NEVER” gone away, ....the Forever Yours candy bar, The dutch chocolate was superb.
I love Twix peanut butter
I’m rather fond of Dove chocolate, especially dark but all of it is good. Maybe Dove milk chocolate and perhaps a hazelnut cream center, or perhaps kind of a peanut butter and pretzel thing with either Dove light or dark chocolate in it.
snickers is #1. so let it be written.
snickers is #1
My favorite bar was the 7-Up. It had seven kinds of candy (nut, carmel, fudge, jellied, nougat, etc.) all covered in chocolate. Since that has been discontinued, my current favorite is the salted nut bar; I like the salt and sweet and crunch together.
To me the best candy bar is the simplest. Just give me a good old milk chocolate bar.
My ideal candy bar would be milk chocolate (I’m a kid at heart), wafers filled with hazelnut paste, covered with a layer of fudgey chocolate studded with rice crispies. Oh it would be so tasty!
Allot is good, but best is something from Europe, since the chocolate there is more “real”.
Also having the bar frozen is good.
Like a frozen Mars, Snickers or Twix. Yum yum! =D
I would love a bar with a great tasting shortbread base (like a Lorna Doone cookie), and a chocolate coating with toffee bits on it.
I would say a Snickers with a hard shell like on M&M;‘s
My ideal candy bar would have nougat, marshmallow, caramel, coconut, crispy wafers, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, chocolate chips, and a side of cotton candy.
Almond Joy’s are my ideal candy, dark chocolate, coconut and almonds, delicious. :3
love a semi sweet chocolate bar with cashews!
I love Rocky Road Ice Cream so i definetly would enjoy the Snickers Rocking Nut Road Bar :]
I love anything with chocolate—but the best to me so far is a mounds or kit kat—-can you tell I am not super picky! My ideal is chocolate, creamy, small amount of crunch to the bite.
My favorite candy bar is the crunchy snickers. I would love to try the new Snickers bar!
I’d love a fluffernutter type bar- maybe a cookie layer and then peanutbutter and marshmallow layers.. all covered in chocolate of course… Yum.. Although I do love a classic Snickers bar too!
a dark choc. butterfinger!
For me, it’s all about the sweet/salty combo. So my perfect bar would start have a shortbread base with salted caramel, peanuts and really good quality milk chocolate to cover the whole thing.
i love love love the butterfinger criisp bar, why, well the cream of course! with the ability to use the cream in a wafer context, nestle has created a new venue for their candy. you can say what you want, but the mix of wafer, choc and butterfinger is grand.
please send me candy i love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’d love a layered cookie dough coconut combo covered in milk chocolate!
My ideal candy bar would be reeses peanut butter cups with twice as much peanut butter, a little less sweet tasting, and some crushed up pretzle crumbs on the bottom.
A sugar free dark chocolate bar with nuts and caramel!
Take 5, with the addition of marshmallow (that would make it Take 6?).
My ideal candy bar would be high quality marshmellow, caramel and salty pretzels covered in milk chocolate, yummy!
Snickers Almond - w/dark chocolate
I think my ideal candy bar is either a box of Toffifay or Snickers (original). Basically anything with caramel, chocolate and nuts is my idea of a good time.
I would have to say that my ideal candy bar would be a good amount of slightly salty butterscotch caramel on top of a thinner layer of toasted coconut along with a bit of chopped macadamia nuts. This would all be covered in a layer of good quality white chocolate.
Thanks for the chance at winning!
Oh man, the perfect bar….
Lets start with the Lake Champlain Dark Chocolate bar filled with Jamaican Rum Caramel as that is currently probably my favorite. Add to that extra salty pretzel bits and maybe a wafer/peanut butter layer or two from a Little Debbie Nutty Bar.
So pretty much it’s an ultra decadent Take 5, which is pretty un-original considering the original post, but hey, i can’t help it.
So the layer of wafer/PB followed topped by extra salty pretzel bits, slathered by an overly generous portion of the Jamaican Rum caramel all encased in the Lake Champlain Dark Chocolate used in the original Caramel Bar and then lightly sprinkeled with sea salt.
I can’t think of much better than that really.
My ideal candy bar is pure quality dark chocolate
My ideal candy bar already exists: the Milky Way Midnight. I love everything about it.
The perfect candy bar would be an optimized version of the KitKat White Chunky Bar. Fil it with caramel and we have a sure win!
my ideal candy bar used to exist but as far as I know doesn’t anymore
I’ve fallen in love, head over heals love with the Mallo Cup and I read on their website that there used to be a Fluffernutter version (peanut butter & marshmallow). In fact, a crunchy peanut butter (with nutty pieces) and marshmallow and caramel (ala See’s Scotchmallow, my favorite individual candy) would rock my world.
My ideal candy bar is a Three Muskateers. Its perfect as is but maybe try adding some nuts to mix it up a little.
Peanuts, cashews, and almonds covered in caramel and milk chocolate, with a side of peanut butter for dipping.
My IDEAL candy bar would have to be this:
not too big…because the flavors will be rich enough to be satisfying with not too large a size. the bar would have a nice chocolate cookie base layer (like the flavor of an oreo) with peanut butter mousse and caramel layed on top. finally, the bar would be covered in a dark chocolate (not too bitter)
My ideal candy bar is something with milk chocolate, nougat, nuts or pretzels (something crunchy) and some caramel and peanut butter.
I must admit, my very favorite candy bar is the British/Canadian Crunchie bar. It is sponge toffee wrapped in milk chocolate, there is nothing else quite like it. Very sweet, to the point, that when you are finished one bar you feel like your teeth hurt sweet. lol. thanks for the chance.
Happy Monday, Unfortunately, with my sweet tooth, I would love to come home and find the goodies that you did in my kitchen. I like the sound of your most decadent candy bar, but I prefer milk chocolate! Please enter me in your fabulous drawing. Thanks very much…..Cindi
soft caramel and chocolate!
My ideal would be a See’s scotchmallow with pretzel pieces chopped up into the top layer of chocolate. yum!!
I am a lifelong fan of the Whatchamacallit. Can’t find those ANYWHERE anymore, except at a couple of out of the way Mom and Pop gas stations around here.
Hi, my ideal candy bar would be similar to the one that was out in the 80’s, I don’t remember the name of it, but it had something to do with a CowPie. It was marshmellow, pecans, caramel all covered in chocolate, and looked like a Cow Pie! It was sooooo good, the inside was not hard, but soft. I wish they would come back!
creme brulee Godiva
I’ve gotta say… I don’t have a fav candy bar… it all depends on the mood, kinda like a craving for certain foods or drinks.
However, one of my favorite creations I’ve done before is done with the following:
Toasted pistachios
Dried cherries
Dark chocolate
This combination forms a great and somewhat healthy snack that disappeared instantly whenever I had guests by. If this could be a candy bar, I’d likely purchase boatloads.
My all-time favorite bar was the Marathon. Just a braid of caramel covered in chocolate, 12 inches long! I miss them…I don’t know if I would love them as much now as I did when I was a kid, but since they no longer exist, I guess I’ll never know. :-(
My ideal candy bar is any chocoate with caramel and lots of nuts! Ok.. now I’m hungry lol
i’d like a shortbread cookie base (more ritter sport than twix), caramel, then cashews, covered with chocolate.
Either something on the idea of a twix where the cookie base was an oreo wafer, and the caramel was Reese’s pb—covered in good dk chocolate.
Or a snickers w/ dk choc., almonds and a not fake tasting maple nougat.
Nothing brings out the masses like free candy!
I think a peanut butter bar with a thick coat of chocolate and some marshmallows sprinkled around inside would be pretty yummy. Sort of like a fluffernutter.
OK, my ideal candy bar is center of burnt caramel filled with a combination of miniature peanut butter cups, pretzel nuggets and whole roast almonds, covered in milk chocolate. Sort of a candy bar version of Ben & Jerry’s Everything But The Kitchen Sink ice cream.
I love the Snickers bar === just need to add a bit more nougat…. The minis are just wonderful~~
I have the dark chocolate one that is just waiting for me to eat it :o)
I wish they would bring back “Choco-Lite”.
Wow that is a lot of chocolate to send to one person. Thank you for being so generous to your readers. Snickers is really my ideal but instead of peanuts I would love to have hazelnuts in it. So nougat, caramel, hazelnuts, with a dark chocolate coating. I suppose I could live with milk chocolate but dark chocolate is my favorite.

My ideal candy bar would be one whole candy bar divided in two. For me 1/2 Reese’s peanut butter and 1/2 Snickers. You can take one bite from one end and turn it around and get a whole different experience.
I love Twix and Kit Kat, so if they could make a Kit Kat, but in between layers of the cookie, there would be caramel and chocolate instead of just chocolate.. that’d be amazing
My all time favorite candy bar is the Snickers bar! Thanks! This would be awesome to win!
Boy, what a toughie! My ideal would be the See’s Scotchmallow, with candied almonds in it. And, in a truly ideal world, it would provide my daily requirement of fiber and vitamins, and have a negative calorie load, meaning just to eat it would be like spending 20 minutes on the treadmill. Hey, I can dream!
You rock, Cybele! Thanks for trying all this stuff, so we don’t have to!
i would love some sort of a pecan pie bar. this is impossible but would be so good. pecan pie filling, chunks of pecans and pie crust, and chocolate on the outside.
My ideal chocolate bar would be similar to a Sky bar:
The chocolate would be a high quality semisweet dark so as not to detract from the fillings like milk chocolate tends to. It would be split up into three sections (or two side by side rows of three if it were a larger bar a la caramello). The first filling would be a creamy truffle center, similar to the taste and texture of a Lindor truffle, but a little lighter and less rich like a mousse. The second filling would be salted caramel, liquid but not runny. The third filling would be a high quality marshmallow, springy and not too sweet. I think I’d like that order so it isn’t too cloying or too rich to enjoy all at once, if you are so inclined
anything with coconut and chocolate…i love mounds bars
Ideal candy bar is a tough call. Right now I’m thinking of something like a salt caramel with a cookie or pretzle crunch to go with it and a layer of Reeses peanut butter.
Hmm, my ideal candy bar would be a cookie base (similar to the Ritter sport cookie base) and a creamy Nutella topping enrobed in good quality milk chocolate.
My ideal candy bar would be a better version of the S’Mores bar. It’s a great idea, but just isn’t as good as it should be. Maybe a S’Mores bar made by Lindt?
I love a Twix, but it seems to end too soon, so I guess my ideal would be a tricked out Twix, not larger or thicker but maybe with the addition of pecans pices….i love pecans and carmel….so your suggestion sounds fabulous…..someone needs to make that…..ooh, or, add a 3rd bar to the Twix package!
When I was young (I’m 46 so be the judge as to when that was!) there was a candy bar that I LOVED. I believe it was just “Mars.” It was a thin marshmallow layer topped with a scattering of whole almonds (and maybe a thin layer of caramel). The whole thing was covered in smooth milk chocolate. It was my favorite candy bar and when it changed (I don’t know what it ultimately morphed into) I was very sad.
Something with white chocolate, pretzel, and toffee.
I’d like an updated 7-Up bar, but without the few segments that were filled with, I presume, phlegm.
1. Chocolate cream
2. Vanilla cream
3. Caramel
4. Coconut
5. Orange cream
6. Cinnamon (very light) nougat
7. Marshmallow
I can hardly pick an ideal candy bar since I love so many so much…
But I think a candy bar that took a creamy nougat (like Milky Way) and then a toffee flavored caramel, with a dark chocolate enrobing, would be fantastic.
My mouth is watering already! My ideal candy bar would have crunchy toffee bits, soft chewy caramel, some type of hybrid dark/milk chocolate, toasted almonds, and maybe a dash of sea salt on top to really set off the flavors.
My ideal candy bar would be very good dark chocolate with almonds.
I’d make mine with maybe a creamy maple nougat, toasted pecans, rich dark chocolate with white chocolate drizzled all over it. Yums!
My ideal chocolate confectionary would be a Ferrero Rocher ball without the wafer layer.
I use ot love marathon bars they were so big for the same price!
