I’ve got to spread my sweet wealth around. I’ve got $50 worth of gift cards for Chuao Chocolatier and I’d like to share them with my sweet readers.
All you have to do is leave a comment here with a working email address (don’t worry, no one else sees it but me) and I’ll do a random drawing from the entries (one per person please) on Tuesday, September 5th.
The winner will recieve two $25 gift cards for Chuao Chocolatier (my review here) that I can send anywhere in the world but their products can only be shipped in the US. You can visit one of their shops in person or use the gift cards to order online. $50 should get you a nice assortment. I highly recommend the Cambur (banana and caramel in milk chocolate).
I’ll accept entries until Monday, September 4th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
When leaving a comment, be sure to unclick the “notify me of follow-up comments” or else you’ll get an email every time someone enters ... which will clog up your email box and that’s no fun ... unless you want up-to-the-minute notification of your current odds of winning.
UPDATE: I know that it looks like your recent comments (entries) are not showing up on the site. For some reason I never thought that I’d ever get more than 100 comments on any post, so the site doesn’t display them all. No worries! I get both an email and I have a record of all comments posted in the system - so rest assured you’re entered! I’m overwhelmed by all the kind (and funny) things everyone is saying and I’m so glad I can spread the chocolate wealth.
UPDATED UPDATE: The drawing is now closed, I’ll announce a winner late in the day.
Cybele, you’re a peach. :D
Not much point in me entering as I live in the UK but just thought I’d mention that September 5th is my birthday. Fantastic.
I can’t resist this one - throw my name it the hat, please!
I love that you tackle all facets of candy from gourmet to kiddie and everything in between. Definitely one of my fave blogs on my RSS reader!
Delicious Chocolate!
*crosses fingers*
Banana caramel chocolate!
I’d like to enter, please - I’m in Canada, but I have friends in the States who I’m sure would appreciate chocolate.

You are such a nice person to give these out to us.
Can’t resist this opportunity! I love your blog, love candy (probably too much).
Lol well after posting on the wrong comments section :( figured I would toss one on the *correct* area now thanks for the contest!
Love your blog!! Very sweet!!
Yum. A loyal reader, now addicted to Wilbur thanks to this site.
Wow, you rock! I love your reviews, btw.
Yay great fun! Just started reading you recently, and I’m enjoying it lots!
I love your website! I actually go out and buy some of the candies you review..the good ones of course! (And a big thanks to that! I agree with a lot of your reviews). I haven’t gotten around to Chuao Chocolatiers though but..I will eventually. =)
i love candy…YAR!
Your blog is so awesome already that I want to say this contest is the icing on the cake, but I can’t think of an appropriate equivalent for candy!
Awesome blog. Love seeing what’s good.
Wow! What a prize! Someone’s gonna be really happy. (And I hope it’s me!)
Sweet Cybele, please bless me with chocolate!
I love your reviews! Let’s see if my bad giveaway luck gives up!
Sounds yummy
What a great prize! I hope I’m blessed with the winning entry - my sweetie is far from home this week, and I could use some cheering up.
What a fabulous thing to do! This blog just gets sweeter all the time.
I come to your page for candy reviews everyday!!! Thanks for having this website!!!
Whoo, candy!
hi cybele,
thanks for keeping your loyal readers on their proverbial toes. i saw a sarcastic little motto at the checkout of my fave little bookshop tonight: “because chocolate can’t make you pregnant.” good enough for me….
yay chocolate! I need me some free chocolate because I just started back at school and am broker than a really broke student.
I’m in! Thanks for giving us a chance at this yum treat.
And chocolate would make such a nice b-day present (9/7, in case you were wondering!)
Karen
This is so kind of you! Please count me in! *crosses fingers*
Love your delicious blog!
Hi, I love your cite. Thnx 2 your reviews I’ve bought delicious candies =)

*crosses fingers*
oh boy free chocolate! and there’s a chuao right down the street **drool**
As Larry-Boy says (in his Spider-man incarnation): “Remember kids: with great chocolate comes great responsibility.” I promise to be very responsible with this chocolate if I randomly win the drawing. :^)
chocolate: better than a money prize
...
*crosses fingers*
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life it’s never turn down a chance at free chocolate.
Ever.
Just found the site, love it as much as I love chocolate!
Love your blog.
Oh! Please, Jesus! Let me win this GC! I love your blog by the way. It’s going in my favorites!

I always look forward to your candy reviews!
Well I have to try for free chocolate!
Yep, definitely worth the time to post. I love this blog. It makes me hungry. =)
*Quiet reader comes out to say something*
in my mind, i’m already eating bananas and caramel in milk chocolate…
^____________^
After reding your post on grapefruit Mentos I persuaded my Canadian boyfriend to scour the aisles of every corner drugstore in Vancouver. About a month later I got 3 rolls of the tart buggers for our 3 year anniversary.
i could go for some chocolate right about now…
Yay!!! I love chocolate but better yet I love a giveaway.
Thanks,
Robyn
Thanks for the offer Cybele.
Love your blog, I’m in!
Wow—this blog is really hopping these days—I think it’s because you do such an amazing job with your write-ups
Yes, please!! Count me in! And thank you so much for doing this! I work about a block from the Irvine Spectrum so oh, how convenient it would be…
I have visited Chuao and they (the chocolate and the employees) are great. I also love Valentino Chocolates (at the Spectrum), but I have a feeling they’re on their way to closing down, sadly. My Valentine candy for the last couple of years has come from there (after much blatant hinting).
woo-hoo! Chocolate!
Count me in! I’m already browsing their site and thinking about how to spend the winnings… the Melao sounds yummy!
:D
Love the site - love candy ....you help feed my already out of control sugar addiction. Now I just need $50 worth of fancy chocolate. Thank you!!
Oo, oo! Me, me! Let me win it!
chocolate please!
mmmm banana caramel…let me win!
The weekends are always a bit sad, because you do not post new reviews. But checking for new entries brightens my work day mornings!
My first experience with Chuao was a sadly stale box of filled chocolate purchased at the Cal Academy of Arts Chocolate Exhibition. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on the fresh stuff ever since. My second experience was with the Chinita Nibs Bar w/ nutmeg, which finally got me off my rump and into the amateur world of chocolatiering. I’d make a trip to San Diego to visit their shop!
Cybele, you and your blog rock!
I love reading your blog!
cybele, vosges has come out with 4 new flavors of bars. i bought the goji bar, with tibetan goji berries, pink Himalayan sea salt and dark milk chocolate. it’s good. they also have a bar of dried kalamata olives in white chocolate.
Bananas? Amazing!
Yay, another yummy contest! Count me in!
There goes my diet!
Cool…count me in!
banana sounds amazing!
wow. your ‘readership’ just jumped a thousand fold. at least now you can see who reads your blog :D
I’ve been reading your blog daily for some time now, and it’s pretty great on its own—but I never say no to free chocolate! Here’s hopin’.
Love your site, and I sure can’t pass up free chocolate!
That sounds so yummy!!!!
Me me me! I love chocolate! Don’t you want it to go to someone who would care for it??
Hello Cybele, this is wonderful I’m a chocoholic & would love to win! Thank you
DELICIOSO
Here’s to you, Cybele, taster of sometimes frightening looking so-called “candies”. If it weren’t for you, how would I know about Perugina with hazelnuts?
oooh oooh me me me!
:D
Nothing like a contest to get all the lurkers out and commenting! Add me too! Thanks.
I so enjoy your blog. I enjoy candy but had no idea I could reading about it would be just as enjoyable. Thanks!
from your homegirl and fellow lover of dark chocolate in mechanicsburg! (crosses fingers)
OOh ooh add me too.
I love the variety of sweets on your blog, but not much beats chocolate!
You rock for doing giveaways! Please add me as well.
I love your web site and really enjoy reading the comments on new candy. You’re always good for a laugh. Pick me please.

Oh, please pick me!!! I would love to try the chocolate.
I love your website! You find so much interesting candy!
Sweet! A chocolate giveaway?! I’m glad I somehow stumbled upon your site today!
gotta get me some of those tasty treats!
You are truly evil for making the statement “A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips” come true. I must admit, I’ve discovered tons of new candies…especially chocolates thanks to this blog. Thanks for weeding out the bad from the good and making those inches count!
Clearly you are awesome.
I hope hope hope I win!!
By the way, in re and old post, I found pink grapefruit mentos at a little liquor store just south of Hollywood Blvd on La Brea (west side). I know you have a couple of cases but someone else in Los Angeles might be interested.
I’m a recent Candyblog addict. Best of luck with this superb site! Here’s hoping I’m the lucky winner!
I love your site. I have been searching for Grapefruit mentos since I saw them here - sadly I haven’t found them yet & I’m in Canada.
Oh, yum.
Sounds delicious!
My roommate and I are both trying, so I’m hoping one of us wins. I can always sneak some of her chocolate…
The competition seems pretty stiff, but what the heck, I’ll do just about anything for a chance at some chocolate! Thanks for doing this!
Hi! I love your blog. I am a candy freak from way back and it’s nice to read comments by like-minded people! Please count me in. : )
I forgot to leave a comment! Yum, chocolate.
I really like your blog, especially the pics, thanks for the chance to win!!
Thanks so much for sharing the love with your readers!
I totally dig your site! Although Japanese and Korean treats have a lot of similarities, maybe you should check out Korean markets? They have some awesome stuff, like cinnamon hard candy (v. different from the American kind)or burnt rice candy (I love real burnt rice but the candy isn’t so much my thing… but some people really dig it).
Thanks for the chance!
One of the best food blogs out there! LOVE your rating system!
*crossing fingers to win the Chuao certificate*
This comment in drooling… can you see it?
Love the blog! <3
I love, love, love your blog! I am living vicariously through it, as there is not a lot of candy variety in the cold north. Thank you so much!
Delicious chocolate…come to me.
Hi Cybele,
Since I have written you in the past about my chocolate addiction I cannot even fib & say I would love to win these so I can buy the grandkids some goodies. I would spend them & hide the proceeds. How selfish! Have a great day!
Florence
Great site!
Please add me too! Thanks for reviewing all this candy so that my tastebuds may vicariously through you!
Wow, Cybele, having swooned at your initial description of “soft banana and brown sugar caramel - imagine a fried banana, drenched in caramelized sugar and then drizzled with chocolate”, I could not but join the frenzy. : )
Giveaway? Fun!
Thanks for giving these away!
I highly enjoy your website, thanks for all your research.
My candy drawer is sad - it is almost empty and needs refilling. The Trader Joes dark chocolate raisins are lonely and need some company. Please send them some fellow chocolate friends.
Me too me too! I love chocolate and I love this blog!
Me too me too! I love chocolate and I love reading this blog!!!!

Yummiest blog ever!
I never say no to chocolate!
throwing my name in because i’m a poor (money wise), poor (pity me wise) first semster graduate student who needs chocolate to get through graduate stats with a professor whose first language is not english.

Choco-monster here…and mmm bananas.

I found this blog a few days ago and I’m still thrilled! Keep up the good work.
I love your site. I now look for the candy you recommend to see if maybe I’ll like it. You’re awsome, Cybele!
I turn to this site for all my limited-edition candy reviews. And to drool over all the gourmet stuff.

I’m entry 101! Like 101 Dalmations, but in this case, I think I’d go with 101 Chocolate Labradors
Thanks for being so generous as to share your gift certificate! Whenever I buy a box of chocolates, they end up making the rounds. I think chocolate is best shared

You are so sweet offering so many goodies all the time to your readers! I’m soo glad I’m not too late to enter for this one!! I’m in Canada so I can’t receive the chocolates but I would love to order my Mom who is in Washington some of these treats! She would love them~

Thank you so much for sharing your gift certificates! I’m crossing my fingers.
I thoroughly enjoy your blog and especially the great pictures! Thanks for sharing =D
You can only win if you try. I’d like to give this wonderful offer a try. Thank you for sharing.
Your website’s excellent! Thanks again to David Lebovitz for publishing MORE great info. I’m going through gestational diabetes right now (5 weeks to go before I can go back to NORMAL eating!) so reading about candy and desserts and regular food is the only way I can enjoy food (really) at the moment. Loved the review on the lava bar.
